“THE 2006 VRANOV LILY”

The sixth year of a flower exhibition in the installed chateau interiors featuring festive flower arrangements in a historic style, dominated by the lily. Organised by the Brno Flower Gallery and the National Institute for the Protection and Conservation of Monuments and Sites – the Vranov nad Dyjí State Chateau Administration. Open from June 18 to June 25, 2006, daily except Monday from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. as part of the chateau tour or separately from 4.20 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

“COFFEE, TEA, AND CHOCOLATE IN THE ARISTOCRATIC PARLOUR”

The exhibition in the former carriage barn at the Vranov nad Dyjí chateau presents the wider cultural and historic circumstances of growing the coffee bean, tea, and cocoa in Africa, Asia, and South America, as well as the spreading of their produce to Europe during the 17th century. The drinking of these beverages in public cafés and at aristocratic seats is documented by paintings, graphics, and mainly pottery, china, pewter, and silver sets, tea-makers, coffee-makers, and examples of other crockery used for serving.

“CZECH DŘEVÁK 2006”

Exhibition of photographs in the former entrance historic exhibition area in the first courtyard of chateau Vranov nad Dyjí.
