The number of visitors to the chamber music concerts is limited. Change of programme possible.
JOHN FALSTAFF AND THE HONOURABLE LADIES (inspired by W. Shakespeare’s drama), Hoffmann Theatre Uherské Hradiště. Venue – the first courtyard, beginning at 7:30 PM.
CASTLE DUO. Concert of nine musicians playing folkrock and Celtic-style rock with oriental, gypsy, Russian, and Jewish tunes. Venue – the first courtyard, beginning at 7:30 PM.
ŽALMAN A SPOL. Concert of a legendary folk singer and author Pavel Žalman Lohonka. Venue – the first courtyard, beginning at 7:30 PM.
CONCERT OF SPIRITUAL SONGS AND MADRIGALS in original style by The Czech Ensemble Baroque - Vocal Quintet. The programme, which is a part of the “Znojmo Music Festival 2008” will include pieces by C. Monteverdi, J. H. Schein, J. Ch. Bach, A. Michna and B. Martinů. Venue – chateau Musical Hall, beginning at 7:30 PM.
ANTONIO VIVALDI: ARGIPPO. World premiere of the rediscovered opera by the famous baroque composer presented on the occasion of the 330th anniversary of his birth. Venue – Hall of Ancestors, beginning at 6:00 PM.
VĚRA MARTINOVÁ. Concert of popular blues, country, folk, and jazz singer. Guest performer – British singer and guitar player Jamie Marshall and Lenka Slavíková. Venue – the first courtyard, beginning at 7:30 PM.
POUTNÍCI. Concert of one of our best country and folk bands. Venue – the first courtyard, beginning at 7:30 PM.
ORGAN CONCERT with songs by European baroque composers (...). Performed by Musica Animata Humeris Třebíč. Artistic leader Karel Tomek, organ solo Marek Buš. Venue – chateau chapel of Holy Trinity. Beginning at 7:30 PM.
BALLET OF THREE CENTURIES. Programme of scenic dancing inspired by classical and romantic history, as well as post-modern dance visions. Performed by Balet Praha Junior – ensemble of the Dance Centre Prague. Venue – Hall of Ancestors, beginning at 7:30 PM.
This year’s advent concert issues from the almost thirty-years’ tradition of annual festive winter events at the chateau, and will be organised in co-operation with the Vranov nad Dyjí township, on Saturday December 20, 2008. The Musical Hall will host the soloists from the National Theatre Prague - Jitka Soběhartová (soprano) and Pavel Červinka (baritone), Miroslav Šalamoun (piano), Miroslav Laštovka (trumpet) and Milan Hodný (dramatic recitation). The concert will include works by Nicolas Le Bégue, Antonio Vivaldi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, George Bizet, Johann Sebastian Bach, Richard Wagner, as well as Czech and Moravian composers Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, and Leoš Janáček. The music will be accompanied by a recitation of poetry by Svatava Neumannová and Jan Skácel. The concert begins at 7:30 PM, tickets can be ordered by phone at the chateau office. The visitors to the concert can see also the Christmas exhibition, which will be open for them from 6:30 PM.
