"THE LANDSCAPE OF PODYJÍ IN 19TH AND 20TH CENTURY PAINTINGS"

An exhibition of artwork aiming to depict some of the changes in nature and human habitation in the Podyjí National Park. Venue – buildings of the former entrance to the historical exhibition in the first courtyard (opposite the box office), where the seasonal information point of Podyjí National Park administration will also be established. Organised by: The Administration of Podyjí National Park, South Moravian Museum, Znojmo, and The National Institute of Monument Protection – The Administration of the State Chateau Vranov nad Dyjí. Open from May 25th to August 31st, 2008, daily (except Mondays), between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, May and June until 4:00 PM only.

"VRANOV LILLY 2008"

The eighth year of the magnificent flower show installed in the interiors of the Vranov nad Dyjí chateau, presenting historical formal flower arrangements composed mainly of lilies. Organised by: The National Institute of Monument Protection – The Administration of the State Chateau Vranov nad Dyjí, and the Brno Flower Gallery. Open June 12th to 19th, 2008. The exhibition can be visited daily, except on Mondays, either between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM during regular visit hours to chateau interiors, or individually from 4:20 PM to 5:00 PM.

"THE WORLD OF CHILDREN IN NOBLE HOMES"

The tenth jubilee year of the great seasonal exhibition in the former chateau carriage barn in front of the entrance gate illustrates the beauty of historical arts and crafts, and illustrates what childhood and growing up was like for young aristocrats in the 18th and 19th century. Venue – the former carriage barn in front of the chateau entrance gate. Organised by: The National Institute of Monument Protection – The Administration of the State Chateau Vranov nad Dyjí. Open from June 12th to September 30th, 2008. Open daily in June (except Mondays), between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM, daily in July and August (except Mondays), between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM, in September on weekends only, between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM.

"CHRISTMAS MOTIFS IN THE EYES OF MENTAL PATIENTS"

Nativity scenes, paintings, sculptures and texts created by the clients and therapists of mental hospitals in the Czech Republic. Location – former carriage house in front of the entry to the chateau. Organised by the Bohnice Mental Hospital and the National Institute for Monument Protection – Administration of the Vranov nad Dyjí State Chateau. Open from Thursday, December 18, 2008, to Tuesday, December 23, 2008, and, furthermore, from Friday, December 26, 2008, to Tuesday, January 6, 2009, from 1.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. Groups of five or more people may arrange a visit at any time between December 18, 2008, and January 6, 2009, upon previous notice.
