BALANCE OF ATTENDANCE AT THE CHATEAU IN 2008

In 2008 a total of 65 802 people visited the chateau in different circuits, of which 32,459 visitors paid a reduced admission charge (elderly people, children, students, the handicapped, etc.) and 3,619 foreigners, mostly Austrians and Germans, but also Britons, Poles, Russians, Dutch and others. 17,484 visitors viewed the grand seasonal exhibition “Children in Aristocratic Homes” while the floral exhibition in the period style “Vranov Lilly 2008” was attended by 2,109 people. Almost 19,000 people visited the exhibition “Landscape of Podyjí in Paintings from the 19th and 20th Centuries”. The fifth year of the Christmas exhibition of statues, paintings and Nativities, this time accessing the works of Czech psychiatric clients, was viewed by 603 visitors. 1,628 viewers and listeners attended ten concerts, theatre performances and other cultural programmes of the XXVI year of Vranov Summer of Culture.
