CLOSER CO-OPERATION OF THE VRANOV AND RIEGERSBURG BAROQUE MONUMENTS

The earlier promotional co-operation of our chateau with the nearby Lower Austrian Riegersburg gained new momentum on July 1, 2009 in connection with the season-long exhibitions opened in July at each of the chateaux. The Vranov exhibition presents the technological mastery and exceptional aesthetic standard of the ceramic products from the local manufactory of European importance, which was a worthy competitor for the most important factories of the Habsburg monarchy in the 19th century. The entirely exceptional Riegersburg exhibition of paintings, prints and designs from Austrian and Czech authors “Art at the Time of the Cold War”, organised within the first international Lower Austrian Provincial Exhibition in 2009, shows that shared cultural interests survive in all circumstances and no Iron Curtain can destroy them. Both exhibitions, whose importance exceeds the regional boundaries, are definitely worth visiting. The administrators of both monuments, only five kilometres from each other as the crow flies, will provide discount bonuses to those who visit both exhibitions.
