Public bus stops. There are four in Vranov: on the square in the centre of the village, opposite the Klatovka lodging house on the way to the dam, then about 120 metres above the entrance to the chateau, and by the buildings of the former farm in the direction to Podmýče.
Train stop with a direct connection to Jihlava and Znojmo is in the village of Šumná, which lies about 8 km from Vranov (on the road), or some 6 km using the shortcut through the so-called Swiss valley.
Shuttle transport service is provided for visitors to Vranov on a sight-seeing in July and August, by "train", which departs several times a day from the Vranov beach through the village square to the chateau and back.
Car park. Parking in front of the chateau is forbidden. A large guarded place this purpose, which is situated by the road at the edge of the village in the direction towards Podmýče. A new, approximately 500 metres long footpath leads from the car park through a forest to the main entrance to the chateau.
Border crossings to Austria. From December 21, 2007, when the Czech Republic joined the Schengen Area with freedom of movement, the state border can be crossed with a valid passport anytime and anywhere provided the visitor respects road signs and does not trespass on private property (fields, forests, etc.). Besides that, the territories of national parks – Podyjí and Thayatal – define special rules of movement, which must be strictly observed. This also means that in the first and second zones of those national parks, one may only use the marked tourist routes for walking. Visitors in vehicles are advised to use the nearby border crossings between the villages of Vratěnín - Obertürnau (about 26 km west of Vranov), Hnánice - Mitterretzbach (about 37 km east of Vranov), and vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes may also cross between Šafov - Langau (about 8 km from Vranov). For cyclists, walkers, and cross-country skiers, there are also regional marked routes available with border crossings in Šafov - Riegersburg (about 8 km from Vranov), Podmýče - Fellingu (about 3.5 km from Vranov), Stálky - Heinrichtsreith (about 12 from Vranov), and Čížov - Hardegg (about 10.5 km from Vranov).
