MARCH 26 - ON THE FUTURE OF TOURISM IN THE PODYJÍ REGION

Upon the initiative of the management of the Brno branch of National Institute of Monument Protection the Vranov chateau served as a venue for an important meeting held on Wednesday March 26. The participants were the representatives of the Regional Authority, National Park Podyjí and other institutions, and some mayors and castellans from Uherčice, Vranov, and Bítov. The Austrian party was represented by the owners of the nearby historic homes of Hardegg, Riegersburg, and Greillenstein, as well as the staff of travel agencies. The aim of the successful meeting was to define the possibilities of further development of travel and tourism in the Podyjí region, and to define conditions of mutual co-operation and finding out ways how to draw financial support from EU funds.
