THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER AT VRANOV

The exhibition “The Podyjí Landscape in the 19th and 20th Century Paintings” was opened on Saturday, May 25. It presents a selection of landscape paintings by major regional artists of the past, including C. Gödel, J. Doré, O. Faust - Swerak, R. Havelka, F. Wiehart and J. Růžička, but also foreign artists such as A. F. Kunike, G. M. Monsorno, etc. (see the 2008 Exhibitions). The Deputy Prime Minister of the Czech Republic and Minister of the Environment Mr Martin Bursík appeared and gave a short speech at the exhibition. Deputies of Parliament Kateřina Jacques, Přemysl Rabas and Marta Bayerová, the mayor of the Znojmo Municipality Petr Nezveda, the mayors of some municipalities of the Dyje region and dozens of other guests were also present at the opening. After seeing the paintings in the Thayana Gallery on the first courtyard, the guests visited a public concert of traditional Irish music presented by the “Shannon – Irish Music” band.
