The monumental Hall of Ancestors of the Althann family from the end of the 17th century, which is among the finest examples of European baroque architecture. The lavishly designed and decorated interiors suggest how the aristocracy lived at the end of the 18th and throughout the entire 19th century in Vranov. Numerous pieces of pottery come from the production of the famous local stoneware factory.
Opening hours. In April and October from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, May, June, and September from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, July and August 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. In April and October the opening hours apply only to weekends and public holidays, on working days only for organised groups that are ordered in advance. Monday is always a closing day throughout the entire season, usually even after a public holiday. If the situation enables it and if the staff agree, visits are possible outside the stated opening hours as well, but for extra charges.
Organisation of the tours. The tour takes approximately 55 minutes. The intervals between the individual tours take usually 10 minutes in the summer season. Lunch break is stated in the opening hours schedule for 12:00 to 1:00 PM. The last tour starts one hour before the end of opening hours. The highest possible number of visitors in one group is 25 adults. The interiors can be visited only with the guide. Foreign visitors can ask for guided tours with a qualified guide speaking German (throughout the entire season), or English (in July and August). Apart from that, printed guide texts are available in Russian, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, and Hungarian, and also in English and German.
Admission for the year 2009. Full admission CZK 95/4,0 EUR. Elderly people from 65 years, children from 6 to 15 years, students under 26 and holders of the ZTP (handicapped persons) card, ISIC Student Card a EURO STUDENT Card are entitled to a reduced admission of CZK 65/2,5 EUR. A new family admission fee for two adults and up to 3 children below 15 in the amount of CZK 285/15,0 EUR is available. Free admission for children below 6 years and holders of the following certificates and cards: card of employee of the National Institute of Monument Protection(NPÚ), ICOMOS card, ICOM card, card of the Fund for Children in Need (FOD), card of a guide for a disabled person (ZTP/P) and guides of groups of more than 20 persons booked in advance and journalists must be announced to the chateau administration prior to admission. The extra fee for a guided tour in a foreign language is 95 CZK/4,0 EUR, the extra fee for a visit outside regular opening hours during the season is 95 CZK/4,0 EUR, and extra charge for visit outside regular opening hours and outside the season is 190 CZK/8,0 EUR. Payments in foreign currencies are accepted in EUR only. It is not possible to pay with credit cards yet; we are planning this service for 2010.

Organisation of the tours. The visit takes approximately 15 minutes. The highest possible number of visitors at one time is 50. Intervals between individual visits take 20 to 30 minutes. Lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. Last visit begins 60 minutes before the end of the opening hours. The interiors can be visited only with the guide. Foreign visitors can ask for guided tours with a a qualified guide speaking German. Apart from that, printed guide texts are available in other foreign languages.

The former carriage shed in front of the main entrance gate usually hosts a large seasonal exhibition on some historic arts and crafts, with exhibits coming from closed depositories of various South-Moravian castles and chateaux. So far, the following exhibitions took place:
Opening hours. The exhibition is opened from 21. to 30. June, and in September on weekends from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, then throughout July and August from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The closing day is Monday, and the first day after a public holiday. Outside this time, visits are possible only in special cases and upon the permission of the chateau administration.
Organisation of the tours. Visit without a guide. Length of visit is arbitrary. There are no lunch breaks.

Optional visit circuit with detailed visit to the garden below the entrance bridge, and with explanation on the chateau park, its history, as well as on the trees and shrubs growing on the courtyards and in the interiors.
Opening hours. The visit to the chateau gardens is possible only upon previous arrangement with the chateau administration, from May to September within the opening hours applying to the first circuit.
Organisation of the tours. Length of tour approximately 20 minutes. Maximum number of visitors in one group is 15 persons. The visit is possible only with a guide providing a qualified structured commentary.
